canning seems scary. it’s feels like it’s something out grandmas do. we don’t have the time. we don’t have the skills. LIES! it’s actually true for some items. this is a baby step into canning! you don’t need to follow any of the “procedures” or add any special ingredients! ⠀ ⠀ the cool thing about making your own (i know i day this a lot) is knowing what is going into it! you can use fresh and local ingredients. also, it just feels SO cool to make your own jam. i gave my new neighbor some of this and now were seriously besties! she gave me a picnic table!!!!⠀ ⠀ i do recommend using mason jars to store them & i did boil mine beforehand just to insure they’re clean. to do this, i just boiled a pot of water & threw my jars in! ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ingredients:⠀ • 8 fresh peaches ⠀ • 2 tbsp lemon juice ⠀ • 2 cups sugar ⠀ • yep that’s literally it ⠀ ⠀ directions:⠀ • remove pits & slice up your peaches. don’t worry about it being sliced too nicely!⠀ • put peaches and lemon juice in a large pot & cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. stir frequently!!⠀ • add sugar and stir well & turn heat up a little ⠀ • bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes. stir constantly. ⠀ • turn heat to low & cook for about an hour. you just want it to thicken up! ⠀ • remove from heat and put in jars ⠀ • that’s it you’re done!!!⠀ ⠀ #homecooking #canning #jam #easy #youcandoit
