so technically pinch and splash and all those words do have measurements to go along with them. if you’re following a recipe that uses them, just google quick to find out the actual measurement. ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ when i cook, i don’t really measure my spices and herbs, i just go with it. that is really tricky when it comes to writing these recipes, but i was talking with a friend who was saying just throwing stuff in doesn’t come naturally to her. i imagine a lot of people feel like they’re in the same boat. ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ this is going to sound SO silly, but pour spices into your hand before you put it into your dish. here i have 1/4 tsp of salt. it’s just another way to visualize what you are adding in! ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ also, always start small. add just a little flavor, then add on. when you get too much salt, you can’t get rid of that. you can always add more. practice makes perfect. soon it will all be coming naturally. ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ #homecooking #pinchofsalt #seasoning
