dump is such an ugly word for such a beautiful thing, but there is so much beauty in dump recipes. i love cooking. the process. the outcome. all of it. even with that, sometimes i don’t want to wash 7 dishes just to make a cake or buy 14 different spices just to make dinner. that is where the dumping comes in. ⠀ ⠀ a few weeks ago i was at a party with pineapple upside down cake. that stuff is soooo underrated. i ate far too much, then was scrolling through pinterest and saw something along the lines of this. i was telling my mom about the recipe and she finished my sentence with the ingredients and directions, so i think its in my dna to enjoy this cake. ⠀ ⠀ baking can be pretty intimidating. i usually follow recipes exactly because it can be super easy to mess something up. you cannot mess up this recipe. i promise. ⠀ ⠀ ingredients: ⠀ • 2 – 20 oz cans of diced pineapple (drained)⠀ • 1 – 10 0z jar of cherries (drained) ⠀ • ½ c brown sugar ⠀ • 1 box yellow cake mix⠀ • ¾ c butter – sliced ⠀ directions:⠀ • preheat your oven to 350* & grease a 9x13 pan ⠀ • dump in your pineapple & cherries (seriously just dump do not try to have a nice arrangement and ratio of pineapples and cherries hehe)⠀ • sprinkle brown sugar on top⠀ • sprinkle cake mix on top of that ⠀ • (here’s where you can do the nice placing) put the butter on top – evenly (also – i know it sounds like a tonnn of butter. it is. the fruit it what makes it healthy. lol jk, but you do need that much butter!) ⠀ • bake for 25-30 minutes. you want it to be bubbly!⠀ ⠀ this cake tastes amazing w vanilla ice cream. it almost needs it – its v rich! next time you feel like baking, but not actually baking – try this recipe out!!⠀ ⠀ #homecooking #dumpcake #pineappleunsidedown #homechef
